Bayerischer Hof

Bayerischer Hof München

The Bayerisher Hof Munich is what travel guides would call, the grand city hotel of Munich. It’s situated very centrally, just off the main shopping area in a tree-lined boulevard. Inside, the Bayrisher Hof is a maze of opulence and there’s usually plenty going on in the many venues, bars and restaurants located in its lower stories.

The Bayerischer Hof nightclub

The basement houses a decent jazz venue which puts on a whole series of concerts, many of them free, that are well attended by residents and locals alike. You couldn’t find a décor that says hotel bar more definitely than does the Bayrisher Hof nightclub. Its mix of wooden frames and exposed bricks with coloured neon lights, make it like two cheesy hotel bars in one. 1980s strip club meets alpine lodge: Double cheese. For all that, it is fun, and, with its numerous quiet corners and tables for two, makes a great date venue. Just make sure you’re splitting the bill. The music may often be free, but the drinks sure ain’t.

The Bayerischer Hof München

The Bayerischer Hof is truly massive and there is always a great deal going on inside the venue. The numbers tell a story in themselves: 5 restaurants, 6 bars, forty separate function venues. There is always someone getting married in the building and a handful of posh parties going on. Dress up smart and it’s pretty easy to wander around at your leisure, crashing the odd party or two without anyone noticing or caring too much. It’s certainly a cheaper way to enjoy one of Munich’s most expensive centres of life.
